Booking timelines vary depending on the artist, the size and complexity of the piece, and current availability. Some appointments can be scheduled within days, while others may require several months. We recommend contacting your artist directly for the most accurate timeframe.

Absolutely. Each of our artists has their own style and specialty, and we encourage you to choose the artist that best aligns with your vision.

Yes. At SoulTide, we specialize in custom tattoos. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to reflect each individual client. We believe your tattoo should be as unique as you are.

Most artists present the design on the day of your appointment. This allows for in-person adjustments to ensure accuracy, clarity, and proper fit for your body.

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your appointment. The amount varies depending on the size of the tattoo and the artist you will be working with.

Deposits are non-refundable. They secure your appointment time and compensate your artist for the time spent designing your custom piece. Deposits can be applied toward your tattoo total.

Cash is preferred. We also accept Zelle and Venmo.

Tips are always appreciated but never required. The amount is entirely up to you and your experience.

Yes. We offer complimentary touch-ups within one year of your original appointment, depending on the tattoo and proper healing.

We'll take care of everything once you arrive, but bringing a few personal items can make your session more comfortable. We recommend bringing:
- Headphones
- Phone charger
- Snacks
- A blanket (we keep the studio cool)
- Comfortable, loose clothing that you don’t mind getting ink on
We do have these items available upon request, but availability may be limited during busy hours.

Proper clothing helps ensure comfort and accessibility for your artist.
- Shoulders / Arms / Chest / Sternum / Neck / Stomach: Tank tops or tube tops are recommended. If your shirt must be removed, nipple covers can be worn, or we can provide appropriate covering.
- Back: Your shirt will need to be removed. A zip-up sweater worn backwards is recommended.

Hip / Thigh:
Women: Side-tie bikini bottoms recommended.
Men: Shorts are acceptable. Be prepared to remove pants if necessary. - Feet: Sandals or flip-flops are recommended, as swelling may occur.

Each artist may provide specific aftercare instructions. In general:
- Keep the tattoo clean
- Avoid excessive sweating
- Avoid sun exposure
- Avoid submerging in water (no pools, baths, or ocean)
After 2-3 days, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion 2-3 times daily for approximately 2 weeks, or as instructed by your artist.

Yes. Eating beforehand is extremely important. Low blood sugar can increase the risk of dizziness or fainting. A full meal before your appointment is strongly recommended.

We do not recommend drinking alcohol 48 hours before or 24 hours after your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, which can increase bleeding and negatively affect the tattooing and healing process.

We generally prefer clients not to use numbing cream. However, if you feel it is necessary, please consult your artist beforehand to ensure it is compatible with the tattooing process.

We require at least 5 days' notice to reschedule your appointment and retain your deposit. Rescheduling within 5 days or canceling without rescheduling may result in loss of your deposit.

Yes. You may bring one guest. Depending on space and shop activity, they may be asked to wait in the lobby area.

We allow a 15-minute grace period. After that, your appointment may be shortened, rescheduled, or subject to additional charges, depending on artist availability.

You must be at least 18 years old with a valid ID. California law does not allow tattooing minors, even with parental consent.

Yes. A valid government-issued ID is required and will be verified before your appointment.

We are open 7 days a week from 12 PM to 9 PM.

We are located in downtown Long Beach, California. Street parking is typically available nearby.

Yes. All inks and products used at SoulTide are vegan-friendly.
